In the United States there are more then 140 million people suffering from some form of musculoskeletal condition at any point in time. The number one complaint is low back pain with knee pain coming in a close second. Low back pain has received much attention when it comes to treatments as it is a $150 billion industry annually.  Knee pain (including knee osteoarthritis) treatments contribute to $27 billion dollars annually in the U.S.  For this and many other factors knee pain treatments haven't seen much innovation when it comes to treatments. Knee pain conventionally in the U.S. has been treated with NSAIDS, corticosteroids, physical therapy and when all else fails a total or partial knee replacement surgery surely follows. This of course is a script that plays out mostly in the United States as other countries in the world have developed alternative treatments for knee pain and with great results.  Italy for example, is at the forefront of knee pain treatment. They have used radial and focal shockwave treatments, traction, and EMTT therapy to treat various musculoskeletal conditions including knee pain and knee osteoarthritis. It is this type of innovation that our clinic has decided to bring to the U.S. and specifically to Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. We treat knee pain using a unique approach inspired by the techniques developed in Europe. We have combined European innovation and the latest in knee pain research and developed our own unique therapy for acute and chronic knee pain including knee osteoarthritis (most common symptom inside knee pain).
